Although we use this primarily on our Boston Bibb and watercress salad, I especially like to serve it on grilled steak, grilled pork chops and roasted chicken.
I may be putting myself on the line here, but there are a few very specific things I judge all cooks by: their ability to make and understand bread, desserts and a simple vinaigrette.
Balsamic Shallot Vinaigrette
Hearty balsamic vinegar is rich and pungent and it's chocolatey aroma makes it a delicious accent drizzled on mesclun greens, particularly bitter ones like endive.
Crumbled Roquefort Dressing
Because Roquefort is my all-time favorite cheese, I can't resist just dipping bread into this dressing.
